WHAT WE HAVE:
Our house is situated in Stonebroom - 5minute drive from Alfreton, 20minutes from Derby and 15 minutes from Chesterfield. Its a semi-detached property on a quiet cul-de-sac.
HOUSE
The main access to the house is from the side where there is a drive, which you can squeeze 2 cars on to. There are fences to the back of the property, and hedges to the front. There are gardens to the back, front and side, and a small concrete shed for kiddies toys and lawnmowers.
The house has Gas Central heating and double glazing.
Inside the house there are 3 bedrooms, (2 double, 1 single) and an upstairs Bathroom with w/c, and an airing cupboard.
The Front door opens into the hallway, ahead into the livingroom which is a good size with gas fire. Under stairs space for hoover and shoes.
The Backdoor opens into the kitchen, the dining room wall has been removed to create an open "kitchen-diner" making it a very practical space. The sink is under the window overlooking the front garden, the dining room and living room windows overlook the back garden.
LOCAL
We are non-smokers, but have 2 cats, so we have a cat flap in the back door.
There is a Sky Dish fitted to the house.
NEDDC have planned to renew the kitchens and bathrooms in Stonebroom in 2012-2013.
There are good bus services to alfreton, clay cross and chesterfield just across the road.
Stonebroom has 2 shops, a doctors and pharmacy, a post office, a church, a park, a pub, a chinese take away and a hairdressers all in walking distance.
Alfreton, Clay cross and Chesterfield have the closest supermarkets, swimming pools and leisure centres. Chesterfield and Derby have large Cinemas. Tibshelf has the nearest Scout and Guiding Unit.
The nearest Nurseries can be found in Shirland, Stretton and Clay Cross. There are also private child carers nearby.
SCHOOLS
Just one minute walk to the bottom of the road is Stonebroom Primary and Nursery School. A very friendly and warm environment for your children. The school has its own indoor sports hall and stage, great for budding athletes and actors. I think the nursery takes children from 3 years of age. You can find the Ofstead reports on the schools website. The nearest secondary schools are Alfreton (Mortimer Wilson, Grange St) or Tibshelf Comprehensive School (No bus service or A-Levels available at this school, but it is less than 5 minutes drive away. There will be a new Tibshelf secondary school to be built inbetween tibshelf and stonebroom in the next ten years apparently).
